Home Office response to letter on compensation for the overseas victims of corruption

In December, following the sentencing of commodities giant Glencore for bribery, Spotlight on Corruption and a range of international and African civil society organisations wrote to Justice Secretary Dominic Raab and Serious Fraud Office Director Lisa Osofsky to urge them to do more for the overseas victims of corruption.

The letter was subsequently passed to the Home Office and, in February, we received a response from Security Minister Tom Tugendhat.

In line with Spotlight’s policy of publishing formal correspondence with government departments wherever possible, we have reproduced the minister’s response below.
